Crafting Your Ceremony
When my husband Harley and I were married in 2017, we decided to keep things simple and intimate. We were so nervous and excited; it was a very happy day. It was enhanced by our Officiant, Mona, who genuinely cared about us. Her warmth, kindness and commitment were overwhelmingly evident.
She became an unforgettable part of our wonderful day, so much so it sparked an unfading current in me that I had to pursue. That current was the feeling of joy and comfort that I would like to share with others on their wedding days.
The term “Officiant” sounds so formal. Yes, I make marriages legal by dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s. But for me it goes far beyond that. I am so humbled and grateful that you could choose me to be part of your most special day. I take joy in your joy.
I want to conduct a ceremony that captures your unique beginning as a married couple.
I will collaborate with you to create a wedding ceremony that you feel completely comfortable with. I can offer resources to help you with important decisions. If you have any fun ideas that you would like incorporated, count me in! I want to be a memorable part of your ceremony.
The most important part of your wedding day is the ceremony! I believe in professionalism at every level. I am quick to respond to texts, emails, DM’s and/or phone calls, so you’re never left wondering. I will always be prepared, polished, and composed amidst your family, friends, and other wedding service providers. My self-imposed high levels of accountability, credibility and responsibility are unsurpassed.
Your day is as important to me as it is to you. It is my privilege, and I am humbled and grateful that you would consider putting your trust in me.
Nadia’s Process to Craft the Ceremony of your Dreams!
1. Initial meeting - we get to know each other to see if we are a good fit. I want couples to genuinely like me ☺️ During this time, we talk about the couple’s overall vision of the ceremony. We also talk about what services I provide and how I can help them craft their day.
2. Upon signing the contract and submitting a deposit, I will send a link to an online resource that will aide in helping bring the couple’s vision to life. It includes things like:
-Order of Your Ceremony -Ideas for Marriage Vows -Elements you could consider to add to your ceremony
3. The next meeting is about starting to form the Order of Ceremony. What components would the couple like? Will there be readings by family members/loved ones? Will the couple craft their own vows? Will there be a candle lighting or sand blending sub•ceremony? What is the overall theme of their marriage? Friendship & Love? Family & Trust?
4. Based on the outcomes of that meeting, I will take the time to craft a personal ceremony for the couple. I will draft my “verbiage” for the entire ceremony. I will submit to the couple for their feedback, suggestions and requests. I will revise and resubmit. We will continue this process until the couple is happily satisfied.
5. The next meeting is about The Vows. The Couple have a choice about how to proceed with the marriage vows:
A). They may write them themselves
B). They may select them from the online resources and change them up
C). They may entrust me to write them
Also, the couple can choose to recite their vows themselves or have me lead them in a “repeat after me” scenario
6. We will meet again for a final run through to be sure that all parties are satisfied with the outcome!
7. The couple can request a rehearsal where we meet in person. There is an extra charge for this. Otherwise, if the couple would like a rehearsal, I can attend virtually, which is included in my fee. My goal is to prepare each couple so that they are confident in what to expect from me and what their roles are during the ceremony.
8. THE Day. I will arrive 30-45 minutes prior to the ceremony to check in with the bride and groom, as well as any other key players in the wedding ceremony (DJ, Photographer, Bridesmaids and Groomsmen, Wedding CoOrdinator, Parents of the Bride and Groom).
9. I will take the signed marriage license and submit to the Registrar General of Ontario for processing. I will keep a copy and will submit via a traceable courier method. I will send the tracking details to the couple.
10. I will reach out to the couple 6-8 weeks after the ceremony to give them the prompt to order their Marriage Certificate should they want it. I give them the instructions with links and offer support should they need it!
